"prog-if 02 [ECP]" seems to indicate that the card is ECP capable, and therefore also EPP. The Pico UPC test passed after I used showport.c to set the configuration register to EPP by using "sudo ./showport 21A0 21B8 E" from the above example. 21A0 from above is the base register address, 21B8 is the extended register address (ECR = extended + 02)(See http://wiki.linuxcnc.org/emcinfo.pl?Startech).
