I am currently running emc1 under Redhat 8 on a shoptask mill/drill/lathe.
I am also running BDI 4.20 with mods for quadrature phase drive under the Ubuntu distribution on the
same machine ( 2 laptops ). If you need quadrature or 4 wire raw phase drive under BDI 4.20, you
will need to build from CVS until the next BDI release.
I am currently running emc2 under Ubuntu Dapper on a shoptask mill/drill/lathe.
I use quadrature phase drive (step type 2).
